Low Dose Allergy Therapy
Top Reasons to Try LDA (Low Dose Allergy Immunotherapy)
No Allergy Testing Required: LDA is cost-effective because it doesn't necessitate allergy testing. This therapy encompasses virtually every allergy, as the antigens are cross-reactive with each other.
Comprehensive Allergy Coverage: Unlike other allergy treatments, LDA addresses a wide range of sensitivities, including environmental, seasonal, food, and chemical allergies. Its comprehensive approach sets it apart from other options in the market.
Quick Administration: LDA is administered sublingually (under the tongue) and takes a few seconds, making it a convenient option for individuals with busy schedules. It is also administered every 8 weeks.
Flexible Administration Options: Patients have the flexibility to receive LDA treatments either at the office or self-administer at home. We provide instructional videos to demonstrate its simplicity.
Scheduled Dosing: With LDA, a dose is required every 8 weeks until tolerance to allergies is achieved. This structured approach ensures steady progress towards alleviating allergic reactions.
Convenient Shipping: We offer the convenience of shipping LDA treatments directly to your location, making it accessible for patients regardless of their proximity to our office.

What is LDA?
LDA, or Low Dose Allergen Immunotherapy, is a specialized method of treating food and environmental allergies. Unlike conventional allergy treatments, LDA utilizes unique antigens to restore the body's immune tolerance to various environmental factors both inside and outside the body. This approach has shown promise in treating a wide range of conditions, including allergies and autoimmune disorders.
LDA formulations consist of a blend of over three hundred allergens, which exhibit a broad spectrum of action. This means that patients with diverse medical conditions and sensitivities can benefit from this treatment. The mixtures include allergens such as inhaled pollens, animal danders, dust mites, fungi, yeasts, molds, food additives, common chemicals, perfumes, and formaldehyde.
How LDA Works
LDA works by re-establishing the body's natural immune tolerance to specific environmental antigens and allergens that have become dysregulated in allergy and autoimmune diseases. Administered in extremely low doses, LDA employs broad-based antigen mixtures activated by the enzyme glucuronidase. Following administration, there is an increase in T regulatory cells (Treg), which help regulate inappropriate immune responses
triggered by CD4 (helper), CD8 (killer), and B cells. Essentially, this mechanism shuts off allergic or adverse reactions.
LDA is typically administered sublingually, under the tongue. Initially, treatments are given at two-month intervals, gradually extending to yearly intervals as tolerance improves. Some patients can go long periods without treatments, while others may need ongoing therapy. Most patients notice improvement within the first three doses, though severe cases may require up to 6 to 12 doses for optimal results.
Expected Results
The effects of LDA can vary, with some patients experiencing immediate improvement, while others may require longer to see full benefits. Studies indicate that around 60% of patients report significant positive responses after the first treatment, with nearly all responding positively by the third treatment. Patients with food allergies or intolerances may require 3 to 6 doses for sustained improvement, while severely reactive foods may take up to two years to become tolerable.
It's important to note that while most patients respond positively to LDA, approximately 1 in 25 may require six treatments before seeing strong positive results. Overall, the response rate for conditions treated with LDA ranges from 65% to 95%, depending on the specific condition.
LDA is effective in treating a wide range of conditions, including:
Environmental Inhalant Allergies (e.g., pet dander, dust, pollen)
Gastrointestinal Conditions (e.g., IBS, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis)
Skin Allergies and Conditions (e.g., dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea)
Autoimmune Conditions
Chemical Sensitivities
Respiratory Conditions (e.g., asthma, sinusitis)
Headaches and Migraines triggered by food
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Neurodevelopmental Disorders (e.g., ADHD, autism spectrum disorders)
Chronic Pain Conditions (e.g., fibromyalgia, joint and muscle pain)
Other Conditions (e.g., tonsillitis, nephritic syndrome, depression)
Overall, LDA offers a comprehensive approach to treating allergies and related conditions, providing relief to patients with diverse medical needs.
